Donna. herStory is one of love, loss, expansion, fun, beauty, difficulty, escape and commitment.

I met Diane on the streets of Brooklyn at a block party. Great music, getting lost and loving it! We met and our conversation began with movement.

A few days later, Donna and I met on zoom and she shared stories of her childhood. Born in Hartford, CT from a mother with struggle but a lot of life and love. Donna's words are "when I think of my childhood, I think of air. I think of running through the woods. It was amazing!"

Donna was very close to her brother who was murdered at age 21. A cause Donna fought for throughout her life until the system broke her down. She remembers her and her brother climbing trees and having big dreams together.

Donna was asked to take care of her great grandmother who she describes as her anchor with unconditional love and steadiness.

fter loosing her great grandmother, she lost herself in her work and at the "garage", a place she loved to dance. Escaping her loss was where she found comfort and connection.

Donna expressed beautifully with a deep range of emotion that brought her in to a reflection of light, love and some sadness. This experience of sharing with me and now you brings her an appreciation of being seen, heard and valued. She has since said that she has learned a lot through this experience. Some of which will bring her back in to some unresolved emotion but necessary to carry on in the way that she see's for herself.

Donna is an inspiration.

A true and authentic Womxn who I hope you enjoy getting to know. Hold space for her and please send her a comment if you are called to. She does not have social media handles but I will relay the message.
